Tulip Quilt
For this patchwork quilt, I combined my plant-dyed fabrics with patchwork fabrics from my collection.
I dyed the fabrics with plants from my dye garden, primarily dyer's chamomile, hawthorn, various barks, nettle and madder root.
I dyed the border pink with cochineal.
The pattern is a classic floral design, with the quilting lines mimicking the petals.
The back is made from a piece of pange fabric from Central African Republic; it features a vibrant floral pattern that contrasts with the pastel tones of the front.
The piecing was done by sewing machine and the quilting was done entirely by hand with cotton Japanese sashiko thread.
The batting is organic cotton.
The quilt measures 108 x 141 cm.
Tulpen Quilt -
Auch für diese Patchworkdecke habe ich meine pflanzengefärbten Stoffe mit Patchworkstoffen aus meiner Sammlung kombiniert.
Die Stoffe habe ich mit Pflanzen aus meinem Färbegarten gefärbt, vor allem mit Färberkamille, Ginster, verschiedenen Rinden, Brennessel und Krappwurzel.
Den Rand habe ich mit Cochenille pink gefärbt.
Das Muster ist ein klassisches Blumenmuster, die Quiltlinien ahmen die Blütenblätter nach.
Die Rückseite besteht aus einem Stück Pange aus der Zentralafrikanischen Republik, es ist ein leuchtendes florales Muster, es steht im Kontrast zu den Pasteltönen der Vorderseite.
Das Nähen des Patchworks erfolgte mit der Maschine, das Quilten habe ich von handgemacht,
Die Füllung ist organisches Baumwollevlies,
