Whatever happens, thank God!
For the back of this handmade quilt I used a Kenian rare kanga which has this proverb written on it, in Kisuaheli it says:
"Likufikalo mshukuru mungu"
This will be a heirloom piece!
For my quilts I am using my naturally dyed fabric in combination with traditional patchwork material as well as inherited cotton fabric. The piecing was done by sewing machine and the quilting was done entirely by hand with cotton Japanese sashiko thread.
The batting is organic cotton and the binding is organic linen. The back is a rare kanga from Kenya. I brought it back from Nairobi in 2018, after living there for three years.
It measures 102 x 156 cm

Für die Rückseite dieser handgefertigten Patchworkdecke habe ich einen seltenen kenianischen Kanga verwendet, auf dem folgendes Sprichwort in Kisuaheli eingraviert ist:

Dies wird ein Erbstück!
Für meine Patchworkdecken verwende ich meine selbstgefärbten Stoffe in Kombination mit traditionellem Patchwork- und geerbten Baumwollstoffen. in diesem quilt habe ich ein paar meiner schönsten Stoffen verwendet! Die einzelnen Teile wurden mit der Nähmaschine zusammengenäht, das Quilten hingegen komplett von Hand mit japanischem Sashiko-Baumwollgarn. Die Füllung besteht aus Bio-Baumwollvlies und der Saum ist aus Leinen.
Die Rückseite ist ein seltener Kanga aus Kenia. Ich habe ihn 2018 aus Nairobi mitgebracht, nachdem ich drei Jahre dort gelebt hatte.
Dieser Quilt misst 102 x 156 cm.
