The healing herb edition - 

St. John' wort - Johanniskraut.

This healing herb is a comforting , calming and soothing herb, giving us so much light and joy during hard and dark times. St. John's Wort is well known as a powerful herb, supporting us in moments of fear, sleeplessness, depression, grief, unrest, nervous pain and injuries. 

Since many years, I feel deeply connected to this plant, I care for them, tend them and each year, the moment of blooming, picking the flowers is also a sign of the high summer in my area. St. John's Wort is so close to my heart. it is a generous giver and healer, the more flowers you pick, the more will come! 

the lovely, fine flowers are soothing my eyes and while gathering them, they leave little red-blue stains on my finger tips. 

The healing herb edition is dyed with this sacred plant, it's leaves and flowers. the different colours are achieved by using different mordants and modifiers as well as different amounts of plant material. this year, tend the garden and my  dye plants following the lunar calendar. I want to include the energy of the sun, the moon and all the planets in the gardening and plant dyeing process. 

My intention is to bring as much as healing energy of this herb into this specific yarn - I love the idea, that by wearing a garment made out of this yarn can bring the healing power and comfort to the knitter and person wearing it!
